LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well-established organization in the energy and industrial sector to identify a Tax Analyst. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional seeking broad exposure across sales & use tax, property tax, fuel tax, compliance, audit support, and tax research within a complex operating environment.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working cross-functionally with accounting, finance, and operational teams while contributing to tax compliance initiatives, process improvements, and strategic tax planning efforts. Primary responsibilities of the Tax Analyst role include:
- Prepare, review, and support indirect tax filings including sales & use tax, property tax, fuel tax, and other transaction-based taxes
- Assist with tax compliance, reporting, reconciliations, and related accounting activities
- Research tax regulations and communicate findings to internal stakeholders
- Support responses to tax notices, audits, examinations, and inquiries from taxing authorities
- Maintain tax documentation, exemption certificates, and compliance records
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting indirect tax obligations
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations related to tax activities
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and help enhance tax controls and reporting procedures
- Partner with accounting, finance, and operations teams to address tax-related matters across the business
Primary qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with sales & use tax, property tax, fuel tax, or similar indirect tax functions
- Strong understanding of tax compliance, reporting, audits, and tax research
- Experience preparing reconciliations and journal entries
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple departments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
