Senior Tax Accountant

TW Work Solutions is partnering with a growing and highly respected public accounting firm seeking a skilled and client-focused Senior Tax Accountant to join their team in the Houston market.

This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional coming from public accounting who enjoys working closely with private clients, mentoring staff, and serving as a strategic advisor beyond simple tax preparation.

• Lead client relationships on tax consulting and compliance engagements
• Review partnership, corporate, and state/local tax returns
• Advise private clients on tax strategy and planning initiatives
• Research and analyze tax legislation and regulatory updates
• Review estimated payments, withholding calculations, and investor packages
• Coordinate with internal tax leadership and external stakeholders
• Mentor consultants and interns while leading engagement workflow
• Collaborate cross-functionally with finance and leadership teams
• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax filings
• Assist with audits, financial statement accuracy, and compliance documentation

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA or EA preferred
• Public accounting tax experience required
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance
• Experience working with private clients and closely held businesses
• Proficiency with Quick Books and Microsoft Excel
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage deadlines independently in a fast-paced environment
