Position Overview
TAS Energy Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Administrator to manage and process multi-state payroll operations accurately and on time. The Payroll Administrator will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining confidentiality and delivering excellent internal customer service to employees and management.
Key Responsibilities- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
- Maintain clock records for contract employees.
- Process weekly payroll for all contract agencies.
- Maintain payroll records, including earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and benefits.
- Review and verify employee timekeeping records for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and company policies.
- Prepare payroll reports and reconcile payroll accounts.
- Coordinate payroll-related activities with HR, Finance, and department managers.
- Prepare month-end reports for Finance and Health & Safety departments.
- Maintain uniform contracts, ensuring billing accuracy for participating employees.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, taxes, deductions, and payroll procedures; process new hires and terminations in the clock and ERP systems.
- Manage year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and audits.
- Assist with internal and external payroll audits.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for payroll processes and systems.
- All other duties as assigned by TAS.
- Knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and tax compliance.
- Proficiency with payroll software systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field preferred.
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification is a plus.
- 3+ years of payroll administration experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Experience processing multi-state payroll.
- Experience with payroll processing systems: ADP, ExponentHR, Work Day, etc.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a big plus.
- Understanding of manufacturing workforce payroll practices, including shift differentials and overtime calculations.
- Familiarity with time clock systems is a plus.
Position is at least 80% to 95% at a desk working with a computer. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Performs other physical activities including use of fingers, sitting, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions.
Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal, and conduct extensive reading.
