Senior Accountant

Harmer has partnered with our client in their search for a Staff/Senior Accountant. This role will support the month-end close and general ledger accounting across multiple operating entities, with additional exposure to fixed assets, inventory and cost accounting.

This is a hands-on accounting position for someone who enjoys owning multiple areas of the close and working closely with both Accounting and Operations.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations
• Prepare and maintain balance-sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Maintain fixed asset accounting for equipment, rental fleet and other capital assets
• Record and reconcile monthly accruals, including insurance, property tax, franchise tax and other operating expenses
• Support inventory and cost accounting, including costing analysis, WIP, cycle counts and inventory reconciliations
• Research inventory and general ledger discrepancies and resolve identified variances
• Maintain lease schedules and record related monthly accounting activity
• Ensure transactions are accurately reflected within the general ledger and applicable sub-ledgers
• Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for the annual audit
• Support sales tax reporting and related accounting processes
• Partner with Accounting, Finance and Operations teams to resolve accounting issues
• Assist with process improvements, accounting documentation and system initiatives

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• 3+ years of hands-on month-end close experience, including journal entries, accruals and reconciliations
• General ledger and balance-sheet reconciliation experience
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
