We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support the monthly accounting close process, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and general accounting activities. This role will support fixed asset accounting, capital project accounting, and related reporting while partnering with FP&A, operations, procurement, and other business stakeholders to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with company policies and U.S. GAAP.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules as part of the monthly close process.
- Review general ledger accounting to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Assist with fixed asset accounting, including asset additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
- Support project accounting and capital expenditure tracking activities, including monitoring project costs and project closeout processes.
- Analyze financial data and investigate account variances, unusual transactions, and balance sheet fluctuations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with company policies.
- Prepare recurring financial reports and analyses for management and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accounting documentation and support compliance with internal controls and company procedures.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reporting accuracy, and financial controls.
- Support special projects and other accounting responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a corporate accounting environment.
- Understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Excel skills and ability to analyze large datasets.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with fixed asset accounting, project accounting, or capital expenditure processes.
- Experience in a SOX-compliant environment.
