We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and financial reporting function for a growing organization with nine operating companies consolidated into a single holding company. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for financial reporting, lender reporting, consolidations, budgeting, forecasting, and overseeing the day‑to‑day accounting operations.
The Controller will partner closely with the Assistant Controller to manage the monthly close process while providing oversight of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. This position reports directly to executive leadership and plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial reporting and supporting the company's banking relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare weekly and monthly borrowing base reports for the company's lending institutions.
- Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements for management and bank reporting.
- Oversee the consolidation of nine legal entities into one holding company.
- Lead the monthly close process in partnership with the Assistant Controller.
- Supervise the Assistant Controller, providing guidance on daily accounting activities, accruals, and month‑end close responsibilities.
- Provide oversight of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable through the Assistant Controller.
- Develop the annual operating budget and company forecasts.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Maintain and improve internal accounting processes and controls.
- Support the company's ERP migration from Quick Books Work papers to Net Suite.
The Controller will directly supervise:
- Assistant Controller
- Accounts Payable
The Controller will provide overall oversight of the accounting function, including AP, AR, financial reporting, and consolidations.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA designation preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Experience managing multi‑entity consolidations.
- Strong understanding of month‑end close, accrual accounting, and financial reporting.
- Experience preparing borrowing base certificates and lender reporting is highly preferred.
- Experience developing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Net Suite experience is highly preferred and may command higher compensation.
- Experience with Quick Books Work papers is a plus.
- Base salary: $150,000–$170,000
- KPI‑based annual bonus targeting approximately 20%
