Position Summary

Thispositionisresponsibleforworkingindependentlyandproactivelyonnumerouscomplexfinancialreportingandaccountingtasksandwillbeaninstrumentalmemberofthe Accounting team.

Thispositionisresponsibleforthesupervisionofotherfinancialreportingstaff.

Essential Dutiesand Responsibilities

Thispositioncomeswiththefollowingminimumsetofresponsibilitiesandrequiresanindividualtobeproficientinperformingthelistedduties:

• ResponsibleforensuringthefinancialstatementsareinlinewithGAAP.
• Responsiblefordraftingandcompletingtechnicalaccountingmemosasneeded.
• Responsibleforproducingmonthly,quarterly,andannualfinancialstatements(byentityandconsolidated).
• Responsibleforreviewsandtie-outofinternalandexternalmonthly,quarterly,andannualfinancialstatements.
• Responsibleforperformingmonth-end,quarter-end,andyear-endclosingduties.
• Responsibleforanalyticalreviewoffinancialstatements(includingreviewofBSAndISvarianceanalyses).
• Responsibleforpreparingschedulesunderlyingfinancialstatementsanddisclosures.
• Responsibleforpostingaccrualsfor Ad Valorem ,G&A,Interest,Bonus,LOE,and Revenue.
• Responsibleforreconcilingaccountbalances,including
  
  Cash,A/R,O&GAssets,A/P,Accruals,Debt,andARO.
• Responsibleforcompletingad-hoc analysis,variance analysis,andspecialprojectsthatrequireknowledgeofofilandgasaccounting.
• Responsibleforvariousreportingpackagestooutsideentitiesandauditors.
• Responsibleformaintainingemployeeconfidenceandtheprotectionofcorporateassets,includingintellectualproperty,bykeepinginformationconfidential.
• Responsibleforsupervisingotherfinancialreportingstaff.
• Responsibleforworkingsafelywithin Verdun’shealth,safety,andenvironmentalstandards,lookingoutforthepeoplearoundthem,andactivelysupportingHS&Eprogramsandpoliciesthroughoutthe Company.
• Allotherdutiesandresponsibilitiesassignedbymanagement

Qualifications&Skills

Belowaretheminimumeducation,experience,andskillsrequiredorpreferredforthisposition:

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’sdegreeinbusiness,finance,accounting,orequivalentpreferred.
• Atleast7years’oilandgasaccountingorfinancialreportingexperiencerequired.
• BigFourorauditexperiencewithknowledgeofSECreportingandcontrolspreferred.

Other Skills

• Abilitytomeetstrictdeadlinesbyworkingoff-hoursasrequiredtoachievegoals.
• Abilitytoworkindependentlyonmultiplediversetasksofdifferingprioritieswithoutsupervision.

Computer Skills

• Proficientwiththe Microsoft Office suite .
• WorkingknowledgeofBOLOaccountingsoftwarepreferred.
