Accounts Receivable Clerk

Description

Our client in East Houston is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with strong full-cycle AR experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and taking initiative. Recent graduates with relevant internship or early-career experience will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle accounts receivable processes

Handle monthly billing

Perform collections and follow up on outstanding invoices

Process cash applications

Work within an ERP system to maintain accurate records

Utilize Excel for reporting, reconciliation, and tracking

Communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers regarding account activity

Assist with process improvements and support system-related initiatives, including possible software implementations

Required Experience

3+ years of accounts receivable experience

Experience with full-cycle AR

Background in monthly billing, collections, and cash applications

Strong Excel skills

Experience working with an ERP system

Excellent communication skills

Self-starter mentality; someone who is a true go-getter

Requirements - At least 3 years of experience in accounts receivable or a closely related accounting support role.

- Hands-on knowledge of the full accounts receivable process, including billing, collections, and cash application.

- Ability to manage monthly invoicing and commercial collections with a high degree of accuracy.

- Strong Excel skills for reporting, tracking, and reconciliation tasks.

- Experience working within an ERP or accounting system to maintain financial records.

- Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with customers and internal teams.

- Self-directed approach to work with the initiative to follow through on issues and meet deadlines.

- Experience with customer billing portals, Sage software, bilingual communication, or additional relevant training is a plus.
