Payroll Tax Product Support

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Tax & Compliance Specialist to support payroll tax processing, compliance, reporting, and issue resolution. This position will be responsible for researching and correcting federal, state, and local payroll tax discrepancies, processing tax amendments, reviewing payroll records, and ensuring accurate and timely tax filings.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience working with payroll systems and tax agencies. This role will also require strong client communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

• Research and resolve federal, state, and local payroll tax discrepancies and filing issues.
• Process payroll tax amendments and corrections to ensure accurate tax reporting.
• Review payroll records, employee wages, tax with holdings, and deductions for accuracy.
• Assist with federal and state payroll tax filings, including Forms 940, 941, W-2, and W-2C.
• Research and respond to IRS and state tax notices, penalties, and tax-related inquiries.
• Review tax liabilities, deposits, filing requirements, and payment discrepancies.
• Support quarterly and year-end payroll tax processes.
• Process payroll adjustments, off-cycle payrolls, manual checks, and other corrections as needed.
• Research payroll tax regulations and apply applicable federal and state requirements.
• Reconcile payroll tax reports against payroll records and tax agency filings.
• Assist with SUTA/FUTA compliance, state unemployment filings, and tax registrations.
• Identify discrepancies and determine appropriate corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to tax filings, amendments, reconciliations, and compliance activities.
• Communicate with clients and internal departments to resolve payroll and tax issues.
• Provide professional and timely customer service while handling sensitive payroll and tax information.
• Assist with audits, compliance reviews, and year-end tax projects.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee, payroll, and tax information.
• Stay current on changes to federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.

• 2+ years of payroll tax, payroll processing, tax compliance, or related experience.
• Strong understanding of federal and state payroll tax requirements.
• Experience with payroll tax filings, amendments, reconciliations, and corrections.
• Knowledge of Forms 940, 941, W-2, and W-2C.
• Experience researching and resolving IRS and state tax notices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, UKG, Paycom, Ulti Pro, or similar platforms is preferred.

• Experience supporting multiple clients or employer accounts.
• Experience with multi-state payroll tax compliance.
• Experience with SUTA/FUTA and unemployment tax requirements.
• Experience with EFTPS or other electronic tax payment systems.
• CPP or FPC certification is a plus.
• Experience working with payroll tax amendments and year-end corrections.
• Experience in a client-facing payroll or tax services environment.
