Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a team in Houston, Texas in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on invoice processing experience who can keep payment activity accurate, organized, and on schedule. The role supports day-to-day accounts payable operations in a manufacturing environment and requires strong attention to detail, sound coding knowledge, and confidence using Excel.

Responsibilities include:

• Processing a high volume of vendor invoices with accuracy and ensuring charges are assigned to the proper accounts.
• Reviewing supporting documentation, verifying payment details, and resolving discrepancies before transactions are approved.
• Managing ACH payments and assisting with scheduled check runs to maintain timely vendor disbursements.
• Organizing and monitoring the shared AP inbox, prioritizing incoming requests and responding to internal and external inquiries.
• Maintaining accounts payable records and updating system information to support accurate reporting and audit readiness.
• Working closely with purchasing, operations, and other departments to clarify invoice issues and improve payment flow.
• Using Excel to track payable activity, reconcile details, and support routine reporting needs.
