Senior Manager

The Senior Manager
- Accounting and Integration, will play a key role in supporting DXP's global accounting organization, with a particular focus on accounting, acquisitions, integration activities, and strategic accounting initiatives. This position will partner closely with Corporate Accounting, Finance, Legal, Operations, and business leadership to evaluate accounting matters, support transactions, and lead the financial integration of acquired businesses.

The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting and technical foundation combined with a desire to work across a broad range of projects, business activities, and computer systems. This role offers significant exposure to acquisition and integration efforts, global operations, and senior leadership and is well suited for someone who enjoys moving between technical analysis and hands-on business execution.

Functions:

  • Lead accounting and finance integration activities for acquisitions, including financial due diligence support, purchase accounting, opening balance sheet activities, accounting process alignment, controls, systems, and post-close integration.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, Finance, Operations, IT, and business leadership throughout integration activities.
  • Support the evaluation of potential acquisitions and other transactions from an accounting and financial perspective, including review and analysis of financial information, accounting practices, risks, and integration considerations.
  • Support the company's SOX control environment and help establish appropriate accounting processes and controls as new businesses and operations are integrated.
  • Partner with acquired businesses to understand existing accounting practices, identify gaps, and transition processes to DXP accounting policies, controls, systems, and reporting requirements.
  • Support the global accounting organization with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting activities and review financial results for unusual activity, accounting issues, or areas requiring further analysis.
  • Support special projects and strategic accounting initiatives based on evolving business needs.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop accounting team members as appropriate.
  • Travel domestically and internationally approximately 25–50% to support acquisition integration activities.

Education

- Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting, transaction advisory, accounting advisory, public accounting, or related corporate finance experience.
  • Experience with technical accounting and the application of U.S. GAAP required.
  • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, financial due diligence, transaction accounting, or post-acquisition integration strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with complex, global, or multi-entity organizations preferred.
  • Public accounting, accounting advisory, or transaction advisory experience preferred.

Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities and Training Needs:

  • Strong technical accounting foundation with the ability to research, interpret, and apply U.S. GAAP to complex business transactions.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting processes, internal controls, and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial information and identify accounting, financial, and integration risks.
  • Ability to work across multiple functions and effectively partner with Finance, Legal, IT, Operations, and business leadership.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work streams, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, growing organization and adapt as business priorities evolve.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex accounting matters clearly to both accounting and non-accounting audiences.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with P21, Quick Books, Oracle Net Suite, SAP, and Great Plains ERP or other large enterprise financial systems preferred.
  • Experience working within a public company and SOX-controlled environment preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally approximately 25–50%.
