Staff Accountant

Responsibilities Assist with month-end process, to include but not limited to calculating accruals, monthly entries, and correcting entries.

Analyze general ledger to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance.

Research issues with purchase orders, three-way match, costs applied to service calls, and percentage of completion compared to job forecast.

Collaborate to keep internal controls current to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks, including compliance with GAAP.Balance bank statements.

Collect data and documents to answer questions during annual audit and sales tax audit.

Responsible for keeping information confidential.

Flexibility to work additional hours, as needed.

Other functions may be assigned.

Qualifications Skills Required Must be able to multi-task and keep up with deadlines.

Proficiency in accounting software and tools, as well as a strong analytical and problem-solving skillset.

Understanding and experience with sales and use tax for contractors is a plus.

Experience in Excel with an emphasis on importing data, using formulas, and formatting.

Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with vendors, managers, and co-workers.

Experience with Great Plains and Epicor/Prophet
21 is a plus.

Must have a positive attitude and have the ability to work well in a large team.

Education and/or Experience Required
10+ years of accounting experience.

Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting or Finance a plus.
