A global manufacturing company of industrial parts is seeking to hire a Cost Accountant in either Erie, PA or Houston, TX. This is a hybrid job that will require working in the office 3 days per week. We are only considering candidates who live in the Erie or Houston area and this position does not offer relocation assistance.
The Cost Accountant will be responsible for cost control analysis, updating and maintaining standard cost. He/she will complete monthly and year end close cycle, make application for capital appropriation requests, verify BOM, SCRAP, among others. The Cost Accountant will also work on a cost improvement plan, inventory management, monitoring inventory costs, valuation and obsolescence.

Job Duties:
- Implementation and determination of standard cost with the investigation of variances with actual cost.
- Estimate product cost for existing and new products.
- Assist management in making decisions based on costs and benefits.
- Monitor changes in process or methods to calculate effects on overall costs.
- Forecast and analyze cost of processes, labor, indirect labor, overhead and inventory.
- Conduct audits on financial processes and transaction for cost.
- Provide support for cycle count audits.
- Perform related job duties as assigned and required.
Preferred
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or similar field is required.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Cost Accountant in the manufacturing or industrial industry.
- Knowledge of accounting process and financial analysis.
- Knowledge of how to calculate cycle time.
- Manufacturing experience and ERP experience.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Proficiency in MS Office and advanced skills in Excel.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
- CPA is a plus but not required.
The position offers a generous base salary, annual bonus, full benefits package, and paid vacation, sick and personal time. The estimated salary range is $85,000-$95,000 depending on skills, experience, and overall qualifications.
