Inventory Accounts Payable Analyst

Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Analyst with strong SAP and inventory accounting experience to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role will be responsible for high-volume invoice processing, vendor management, inventory-related accounts payable activities, and resolving complex discrepancies between purchasing, receiving, and accounting records.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the procure-to-pay process, inventory transactions, and SAP while thriving in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities

+ Process and review high-volume vendor invoices accurately and timely within SAP.

+ Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.

+ Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, pricing issues, and receiving variances.

+ Reconcile vendor statements and maintain strong vendor relationships.

+ Support inventory-related AP transactions, including inventory receipts, accruals, and invoice matching.

+ Collaborate with Purchasing, Operations, Warehousing, and Accounting teams to resolve inventory and payment issues.

+ Prepare AP accruals and assist with month-end close activities.

+ Analyze aged payables and open balances to identify and resolve outstanding items.

+ Assist with inventory reconciliations and inventory-related reporting.

+ Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting procedures.

+ Support internal and external audit requests.

+ Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and increase efficiency.

Requirements

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

+ 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience in a manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or inventory-driven environment.

+ Hands-on SAP experience required (ECC, S/4

HANA, or similar).

+ Strong understanding of inventory transactions and procure-to-pay processes.

+ Experience performing three-way matching and resolving complex invoice discrepancies.

+ Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and reconciliations.

+ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Experience supporting inventory accounting functions.

+ Manufacturing, distribution, energy, or industrial industry background.

+

Experience with month-end close, AP accruals, and account reconciliations.

+ Exposure to SOX compliance and internal controls.

+ Experience working in a high-volume transactional environment.
