Financial Reporting Manager; SEC Reporting

• Reports To: Director of SEC Reporting
• Location: Houston, TX – Greenway Plaza/Upper Kirby
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid, Tuesday through Thursday in office and Monday/Friday from home; additional in-office time may be required during SEC filing periods
• Team Scope: Individual contributor role initially, partnering closely with SEC Reporting, Corporate Accounting, auditors, and senior finance leadership
• Primary Focus: Own and support SEC financial reporting activities while applying deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial statements, technical accounting, and reporting requirements within a complex and growing organization

• Prepare and support SEC filings including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, financial statements, footnotes, and related reporting schedules
• Prepare detailed tie-out packages and perform quality-control reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency across SEC filings
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and multi-entity consolidation reporting
• Analyze complex accounting matters and assist with technical accounting research and implementation
• Evaluate new guidance from the FASB, SEC, and other regulatory bodies and assess the impact on financial statements and disclosures
• Maintain financial reporting policies, supporting schedules, and documentation
• Partner with external auditors during annual audits and interim reviews
• Support SOX and internal control documentation related to financial reporting
• Drive improvements to financial reporting processes, systems, workflows, and reporting timelines
• Support complex accounting areas such as business combinations, stock-based compensation, earnings per share, and impairment as needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• Active CPA required
• Approximately 5-8 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience
• Combination of public accounting and corporate SEC reporting experience required
• Prior industry experience required; candidates coming exclusively from public accounting will not be considered
• Strong preference for someone currently working within an SEC Reporting function who also began their career in public accounting
• Extensive knowledge of SEC reporting requirements, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and XBRL
• Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and the financial statements, with the ability to think through complex accounting and reporting issues
• Experience supporting complex technical accounting matters and researching accounting guidance
• Workiva experience preferred, along with strong Excel and ERP/consolidation system experience
• Experience with Large Accelerated Filer requirements is a plus
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and attention to detail
