Cost Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a growing organization. The Cost Accountant will play a critical role in analyzing manufacturing and operational costs, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting financial reporting and budgeting processes. Key Responsibilities Analyze and maintain standard costs for products, materials, labor, and overhead.

Monitor inventory transactions and perform inventory reconciliations.

Prepare and analyze monthly inventory and cost accounting journal entries.

Assist with month-end close activities, including variance analysis and financial reporting.

Investigate and explain material, labor, overhead, and production variances.

Support physical inventory counts and cycle count programs.

Review inventory reserves and assist with inventory valuation processes.

Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and production teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Prepare recurring and ad hoc cost analysis reports for management.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and annual planning activities.

Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and internal controls.

Support internal and external audit requests.
