Scope and Purpose:

The New Business Processor works directly with agents, internal departments, and serves as a liaison between policy owners and agents. The individual will be responsible for application processing of health insurance applications including data entry, plan code and premium verification, application status updates, and communicating with agents. You will also demonstrate excellent service to resolve customer inquiries and issues in a timely manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review new business applications.
  • Issue policies and produce policy prints.
  • Application processing of health insurance applications including data entry.
  • Plan code and premium verification.
  • Application status updates.
  • Communicate with agents by email or telephone regarding pending and settled insurance applications.
  • Remain current on products, procedural changes, and system modifications or enhancements.
Minimum Qualifications:

High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

:
  • At least 1 year of business experience.
  • Proficient technical skills using various programs and applications such as, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, and/or Web Ex Teams, IBM AS400 (Client Access Solutions), Microsoft SharePoint, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision and errors.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and manage time effectively.
  • Dependable and flexible.
  • Maintain a professional attitude in challenging situations.
  • Meet personal/team qualitative metrics.
  • Insurance knowledge preferred.
