About Residential Services:

The Residential Services Division consists of a Juvenile Detention Center and two post-adjudicated facilities. The facilities house youth who are awaiting court and youth who are placed into the department's custody by the juvenile courts. The facilities provide direct care and supervision for all youth placed with the department along with providing mental health and behavioral treatment programs.

Position Overview:

The Staff Services II is responsible for performing clerical and administrative duties in an office setting and maintains an efficient system for office operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Assist the Facility Administrator and Assistant Facility Administrator with general operations of the facility.

* Coordinate with administrative services on payroll related matters.

* Perform budget duties to include purchase order requests, processing invoices and maintaining petty cash.

* Maintain employee training and certifications for all certified and non certified staff.

* Provides support for case management duties.

* Assist with documentation related to meals.

Requirements

All applicants must register and take the HRT Clerical Skills Test and score a minimum of 85%.

Education and Experience:

* High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution with either:

* Two (2) years of paid experience in an office clerical role.

OR

* Two (2) years of paid experience in casework, counseling, community or group work in a social service, community, corrections or juvenile agency that deals with offenders or disadvantaged persons.

* Years of experience from both areas may be combined to equal the two years.

* Thirty (30) hours of college credits from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Advanced knowledge of computer programs required to perform job, including Microsoft Office software, designated case management program and/or assessment tool, and general office machines and telephone system.

* Understanding of payroll, budget and auditing .

* Communicates effectively in written and oral form, can work independently, multi-task, and possess office management skills.

* Working knowledge of departmental policies, procedures and guidelines.

* Comfortable handling multiple tasks and projects.

* Maintains a professional behavior at all times when dealing with the public and staff.

* Must be 21 years of age.

* Also requires the ability to demonstrate proficient use of the personal computer and must pass the clerical exam with a score of at least 85%.

Additional Requirements:

* Upon receiving a conditional job offer, all applicants must undergo a criminal background check and drug screening.

* All applicants must provide evidence of a tuberculosis (TB) skin test. If the attest result is positive, additional documentation will be required.

* All employees are subject to random drug and alcohol testing, as well as testing based on reasonable suspicion that the employee may be under the influence of a substance prohibited by the county's drug and alcohol policy during the course and scope of employment.
