Job DescriptionThis position supports the Assistant Director of Nutrition Services in Human Resources by providing administrative assistance with HR functions related to nutrition services employees within the Cypress‑Fairbanks Independent School District.
Qualifications- High School diploma or GED.
- Proficient keyboarding, word processing, Microsoft Office, mass data storage programs, and file maintenance.
- Ability to use a personal computer to develop and maintain spreadsheets and perform word processing.
- Competence in records management and general office procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and take initiative to ensure timely and accurate completion of responsibilities.
- Self‑motivated, able to work under pressure, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to speak, read, and understand English.
- Basic math skills.
- Experience with human resource data entry or comparable experience in a public education environment preferred.

Assistant Director Nutrition Services, HR
Essential Functions- Prepare correspondence, forms, manuals, schedules, and reports for the assistant director of HR for Nutrition Services and other department staff members as needed.
- Answer and respond to incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff; manage calendar for the assistant director of HR for Nutrition Services and schedule appointments as needed.
- Prepare personnel action forms for terminations, resignations, promotions, demotions, transfers, and labor changes.
- Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Assist employees with resignation process; maintain and coordinate with central HR department for retirement and years of service for nutrition services employees.
- Maintain and update positional TASN membership and SNA membership for yearly payment.
- Prepare payroll adjustments for uniforms and various HR incentive programs.
- Assist in managing the food handler certification program.
- Maintain Family Medical Leave and Temporary Medical Leave information; create and send notice of employee absences and work history information to central HR department to qualify employees for leave.
- Maintain employee yearly work calendars.
- Monitor and accurately update employee labor charts daily.
- Assist with onboarding and orientation (I‑9s) of new employees when needed.
- Support the Nutrition Services Department with regular and reliable attendance.
- Assist Central Office with Nutrition Services Position Reconciliation.
- Cross‑train with other Nutrition Services secretaries.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
All food service employees must use good body mechanics and follow safe working procedures including infection control. The employee must report any unsafe condition to a manager or supervisor and demonstrate no on‑the‑job injuries due to a lack of good safety practices. On‑the‑job accidents must be reported immediately to the manager or supervisor and an accident report completed.
