Brief Description

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD (“THE HARRIS CENTER”) is looking for a Clerical Support Professional to join our team. The Clerical Support is responsible for performing a wide variety of clerical and receptionist duties. Receives and screens telephone calls and visitors. Records and relays messages to appropriate personnel. Provides administrative information to departmental personnel and performs miscellaneous support functions as assigned.

Works under close supervision with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Your Role In Action
  • Produces and proofs correspondence, documents, and other related forms. Maintains files according to organizational/departmental procedures.
  • Processes incoming/outgoing mail according to organizational/departmental procedures.
  • Resolves customer requests, complaints, and problems or refers them appropriately.
  • Files correspondence, memos, records, and reports. Maintains files.
  • Serves as back up for clerical functions including arrangement for service and repairs of office equipment.
  • Inspects merchandise for quality and compliance with specifications. Delivers and picks up documents, supplies, equipment and materials as needed.
  • Maintains professional behavior and provides excellent customer service to both staff and consumers. Demonstrates ethical conduct, professionalism, and confidentiality in all activities. Complies with Agency policy and procedures.
  • Assembles, enters, organizes, and tabulates data; and may compile and tabulate data, and prepare charts, graphs, and tables. May perform arithmetic computations.
  • Performs related work as assigned. Adapts to changing working requirements.
  • Contributes to suicide care and prevention by embracing our values and applying a trauma-informed approach rooted in safety, trust, choice, collaboration, and empowerment.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Experience
  • Entry level, no experience required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Basic understanding of business service functions preferred.
  • Working knowledge of PC software (Word, Excel, Access, etc.).
  • Well organized and detail oriented.
  • Proficient typing ability.
  • Able to use standard office machines.
