Job DescriptionThe Support Specialist provides routine clerical office support to the school. The primary focus is on administrative, communications, and support functions that facilitate daily school operations.
Responsibilities- Interact with and provide assistance to teachers, students, principals, custodians, nurse, district personnel, and parents.
- Assist in scheduling appointments, meetings, and conferences and liaise with classroom and administrative staff.
- Support Administrative Assistant, Attendance Specialist, and Library Media Specialist with general clerical tasks.
- Type, file, copy, and manage documentation; answer telephone calls.
- Operate computer and office equipment such as copier/fax machines; perform basic word processing, database entry, and other office tasks as needed.
- Assist with supply, care, and distribution of textbooks, registration, recordkeeping, withdrawals, and book returns.
- Participate in cross‑training and other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Computer literate with basic knowledge of MS Word.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment such as copier/fax machines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time‑management abilities and ability to work effectively with people.
- Physical ability to lift and transport textbooks and other materials.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Previous gum office experience preferred.
- Mental demands: maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions; provide regular in‑person interaction with the public.
- Physical demands: repetitive hand motions; prolonged computer use; frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling; moving small stacks of textbooks, boxes, and equipment.
