Reports To: Building Principal
Classification: Paraprofessional (Clerical/Teacher Assistant)
Wage/Hour Status: Non-exempt
Days: 195 days for High School; 223 days for Elementary & Middle School
Salary: See Compensation Plan for Paraprofessional/Administrative Support Staff, Pay Grade 204

Primary
Purpose:
Responsible for attendance accounting and performs routine clerical and office duties.
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
- Minimum Assessment Standard:
Broad knowledge of MS Word and basic knowledge of MS Excel. - Ability to operate various office equipment.
- Ability to work with parents, students and school personnel effectively.
- Ability to exercise good judgment in performing responsibilities.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Contact parents/guardians regarding absences and tardies.
- Refer excessive absences to proper authorities.
- Answer telephone, record and deliver messages.
- Register and withdraw students.
- Prepare and input various reports of attendance with district computer system.
- Maintain average daily attendance log.
- Request/forward student records.
- Maintain and verify current demographic data following TEA, Region IV and district requirements.
- Obtain and furnish various reports/printouts on student data.
- Perform other related duties as required.

Working Conditions Mental Demands- Maintain emotional control under stress.
- Work with frequent interruptions.
- This position requires regular in-person interaction with the public.
- Repetitive hand motions.
- Prolonged use of the computer.
- Frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling.
- Moving small stacks of textbooks, boxes, equipment and other campus equipment.
