Office Administrator/ Coordinator
Overview
Hydraquip is looking for a receptionist in our Houston office. The Receptionist is responsible for receiving and routing calls, taking messages, and providing general information to clients and employees as needed.
Responsibilities- Answer telephone calls promptly, ensuring callers are not left on hold for longer than 20 seconds.
- Greet visitors and notify the appropriate personnel of visitors’ arrival.
- Receive, sort, and distribute mail.
- Receive and distribute phone and email messages.
- Notify appropriate personnel of any difficulties or dissatisfaction with office equipment and systems.
- Handle incoming office supply deliveries and notify personnel immediately.
- Notify personnel of any issues with building systems such as heating or air conditioning.
- Remain at the reception area when guests are expected, or return immediately upon notification.
- Assist in the preparation of outgoing mail or packages.
- Assist with various projects as required.
- Keep the reception area clean and organized.
- Carry out all duties ethically and conscientiously.
- Support and participate in the organization’s continual improvement program in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent secondary education.
- Over two (2) years of administrative experience.
- Experience in an ISO environment is considered a plus.
- Education may be accepted in lieu of experience.
- Bilingualism in English and Spanish is considered a plus.
- Accurate typing skills.
- Legible handwriting.
- Courteous and efficient telephone manners with prompt call routing.
- Professional appearance, pleasant, cooperative, and reliable.
- Punctual and consistent attendance.
- Prompt and responsible forwarding of messages.
- Follow-through on all work assignments.
- Ability to regularly lift or move up to 25 lbs.
- Good vision, including near, distance, depth perception, and adjustment of focus.
- Capacity to pass a standard drug test.
- Exposure to a production environment.
- Reasonable accommodations provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
- Personable and problem‑solving.
- Reliable and ethical.
- Effective in working with a diverse group of stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, department employees, co‑workers, and manufacturing employees.
