Job Description

Responsible for receiving, processing, and distributing document service center requests. Performs skilled reproduction and bindery work using equipment such as copier equipment, folder, collator, bindery equipment, and related devices. Serves as lead for the Document Services Center and supervises the work of others. Performs or assists with mail and warehouse duties, operates vehicle and maintains agency vehicle maintenance logs, compiles statistical reports, and performs other duties as requested.

Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment and is able to work in various environments outside and inside the facility.

Essential Job Functions
  • Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy.
  • Copies, reproduces, and delivers printed materials to customers and sets up and operates equipment (e.g., copier, folder, collator, bindery machine) – 50% of duties.
  • Performs troubleshooting activities related to the flow of documents/mail through the document service center and implements solutions – 15% of duties.
  • Maintains logs for tracking document services and mail activities – 10% of duties.
  • Inspects equipment and vehicles for proper maintenance; performs minor repairs; submits vehicle reports (mileage, fuel usage, etc.) – 10% of duties.
  • Sorts and routes all mail to appropriate staff; receives, signs for, and inspects packages and ensures timely distribution – 10% of duties.
  • Orders and maintains adequate inventory of supplies to support mail and copy/reproduce operations – 5% of duties.
Registrations, Licensure Requirements, or Certifications

Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License, Class

C.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Manage multiple priorities.
  • Prioritize and organize work assignments.
  • Operate specialized equipment such as copiers, folders, collators, bindery equipment, and postage equipment.
  • Operate motor vehicles including panel trucks, cargo vans, and trailers under local, state, and federal traffic regulations.
  • Lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies.
  • Communicate effectively in oral and written forms.
  • Compile data and perform basic arithmetic computations and tabulations.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Travel locally and across the state, including occasional overnight stays.
Initial Screening
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred experience operating specialized equipment such as copy machines, bindery equipment, and postage equipment.
  • Must communicate effectively in writing as evidenced in the application.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Compensation Note

Salary range for this position is $3,337.17 to $3,659.50 per month. Former and current Health & Human Services Commission employees may be offered a salary above $3,337.17 in accordance with internal guidelines, while non‑employees will receive the minimum posted salary.
