Administrative Assistant – Latino Ministry
Part-Time (24 hours/week) | Fully in-person | Occasional Sundays/Weekends required
The Administrative Assistant for Latino Ministries provides comprehensive administrative, communication, and coordination support for the Latino congregation of Christ Church Cathedral. This role is central to the smooth functioning of Latino Ministry and supports the Canon for Latino Ministry and coordination across Cathedral departments.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to the Canon for Latino Ministry and assist clergy serving the Latino congregation as needed
- Maintain the Latino Ministry calendar and submit events to the Cathedral Program Calendar
- Coordinate scheduling of meetings and ministry events
- Produce and manage bilingual written communications (Spanish and English) for the Latino congregation, including:
- Weekly emails (events, announcements, emergency notices)
- Other ministry communications as needed
- All communications are drafted collaboratively and sent with prior approval
- Manage phone communication and respond to parishioner inquiries with hospitality
- Maintain contact lists and sacramental records
- Assist administratively with baptisms, quinceañeras, weddings, and funerals
- Coordinate Safeguarding for Latino Ministry volunteers
- Manage Whats App groups and assist with Latino Ministry social media in coordination with the Cathedral Communications Department
- Prepare administrative reports as requested
- Collaborate with other Cathedral ministries to identify programs and events relevant to the Latino congregation
- Other duties as assigned by the Canon for Latino Ministry
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (written and verbal required)
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills
- Cultural awareness and experience working in multicultural contexts
- High school diploma required; higher education a plus
- Prior administrative or church-related experience preferred but not required
- Background check required
