Position: HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) with Security Clearance
Duties
* Independently processes all paperwork and standard actions necessary to process members for assignment, enlistment, reenlistment, promotion, awards, performance evaluation, routine boards, separation, or similar matters and performs a substantive review of records to determine eligibility for actions
* Determines, processes, and follows-up on a wide variety of active duty pay entitlement actions that require carrying out numerous different and unrelated procedures Summary The primary purpose of this position is to perform a wide variety of both procedural and substantive clerical work supporting one or more military personnel programs, operations, or functions, e.g., recruitment, induction, assignment, training, utilization, or separation and to provide office automation support using multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents.

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, 0203 Series. SPECIALIZED

EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-4, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include knowledge of military personnel rules, regulations, procedures, and precedents relating to military programs and resolving complex procedural and substantive problems, and knowledge of current and prior military personnel/pay procedures, regulations, laws, and how to resolve complicated pay problems.

EDUCATION:

Successfully completed four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

(KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
* Knowledge of a standardized body of military personnel regulations and procedures relating to military assignments, separations and retirements, reclassification, passports and of the format, content, and uses of the military personnel record and the procedures and requirements regarding its maintenance
* Knowledge of basic military organizational structure, protocol, and similar matters
* Knowledge of general office administrative and clerical procedures to include typing skills (qualified typist not required)
* Knowledge of the military personnel automated system and various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs
* Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and maintain effective work relationships
* Skill in processing a variety of requests for personnel actions;
Skill in entering and retrieving data and correcting data errors in military pay/personnel system(s) PART-TIME OR UNPAID

EXPERIENCE:

Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER
