Job Title: Support Specialist – Textbook
Reports To: Building Principal
Classification: Paraprofessional (Clerical/Teacher Assistant)
Wage/Hour Status: Non-exempt
Days: 195
Salary: See Compensation Plan for Paraprofessional/Administrative Support Staff, Pay Grade 203

Provide administrative support for the Textbook operation.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years office experience.
- Broad knowledge of MS Word; excellent math and proofreading ability; accurate data entry and typing skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including telephone and email.
- Experience with computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, and database programs.
- Ability to work with database applications on both microcomputer and mainframe systems; experience with computerized purchasing and inventory software.
- Ability to maintain accurate textbook records.
- Ability to work effectively with people, keeping emotional control under stress and managing frequent interruptions.
- Perform general administrative duties for the Manager of Purchasing and Textbooks and the Textbook Specialist.
- Assist with office tasks: typing, filing, copying, answering phones.
- Use computer skills for word processing, database, graphics, spreadsheets and data entry; prepare and maintain records.
- Utilize the textbook inventory program to facilitate shipments to campus locations.
- Manage data entry for the Textbook operation.
- Place orders for textbooks, report damaged books, and assist district personnel with textbook ordering.
- Interact with district personnel, parents, patrons, and vendors, providing assistance as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned and participate in cross‑training.

Computer and various office equipment. - Mental Demands:
Maintain emotional control under stress, work with frequent interruptions, regular in‑person interaction with the public. - Physical Demands:
Repetitive hand motions, prolonged computer use, frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling, moving small stacks of textbooks and equipment.
