Document Control Clerk

The Document Control Clerk compiles and maintains control records and related files to release blueprints, drawings, and engineering documents to manufacturing and other operating departments.
Work Environment:
On-site
- Houston, TX Monday
- Friday 8:00 - 5:00 pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Examines documents such as blueprints, drawings, change orders, and specifications to verify completeness and accuracy of data
- Confers with document originators or engineering liaison personnel to resolve discrepancies and compiles required changes to documents.
- Posts changes to computerized or manual control records, releases documents, and notifies affected departments.
- Maintains document control vault.
- Draft standards on document control
- Prepare for inside and external auditors.
- Move and re-organize electronic files.
- Prepares requests for reproduction of documents.
- Operates reproduction equipment.
- Assist in light editing work.
- Filing and sorting documents
Critical Competencies for Success:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with an ERP (inventory, manufacturing software) system.
- Experience with PDM (Product Data Management) systems and process a plus.
- Experience using microfilm machines, copiers, and fax machines.
- Hybrid schedule – two days remote, three days on-site
Pay range: $20 - $23 / hour
Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
