DescriptionManages the day-to-day administrative and building operations of a department.
- 1. Administers daily office operations, including the coordination and supervision of student assistants.
- 2. Implements and maintains appropriate procedures concerning administrative and building operations related to department functions and activities including physical plant work orders, internal key and access control requests, etc.
- 3. Coordinates property and facilities inventories; communicates building utilization procedures and policies with students, faculty and staff.
- 4. Directly supervises or coordinates the maintenance, renovation and custodial needs of activity and lab facilities.
- 5. May prepare or participate in the preparation of operations and procedure manuals, and other written material and documentation as required.
- 6. Coordinates all aspects of space management and conducts property inventory for the department.
- 7. Serves as property custodian for the department.
- 8. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Additional Posting Information:
- Responsible for maintaining the college’s vehicles and ensuring that drivers complete requirements and are trained appropriately with procedures.
- Serves as a liaison with housekeeping and environmental health.
- Communicates building utilization procedures and policies with students, faculty and staff
- Responds to building emergency situations and coordinates communication around these situations.
- Serves as one of the college’s official building coordinators, attends meetings and receives emails.
- Prepares and delivers trainings concerning building safety including fire safety, emergency planning to students, faculty and staff.
Experience will be considered in lieu of education.
MQ:
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
Experience:
Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
