We are seeking a dependable and highly organized Administrative Assistant for a contract opportunity in Houston, TX within a government and public sector office environment. This role is ideal for a professional administrative support candidate who enjoys keeping operations organized, supporting department staff, and serving as a reliable point of contact for internal teams, visitors, vendors, and the public. The Administrative Assistant will provide day-to-day clerical, scheduling, document preparation, records management, and communication support in a busy office setting.

- Provide general administrative and clerical support to department staff and leadership.
- Answer and route phone calls, respond to inquiries, assist visitors, and communicate professionally with internal and external contacts.
- Prepare, proofread, format, and distribute correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, presentations, meeting materials, and other documents.
- Maintain electronic and physical filing systems, update records, perform data entry, and keep departmental information organized and accessible.
- Assist with scheduling meetings, coordinating calendars, preparing agendas, and supporting department activities.
- Order office supplies, support general office organization, maintain confidentiality, and assist with special projects as assigned.
- Pay rate: $22 to $25 per hour.

- Provide daily administrative and clerical support for department operations.

- Coordinate calendars, meetings, correspondence, and office communication.
- Support data entry, tracking documents, office organization, and special administrative projects.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of administrative, clerical, or office support experience.
- 3 to 5 years of related experience preferred based on the level of the role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy when handling records, documents, and data.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Comfortable communicating with department staff, leadership, vendors, external contacts, and members of the public.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
- Previous administrative experience in a government, public sector, property management, housing, or similar professional office environment.
- Experience maintaining records, preparing routine reports, and working with databases or document-management systems.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle a high volume of administrative requests.
