Job SummaryCop Cars Direct LLC is looking for a hardworking, dependable, and motivated Mechanic Shop Apprentice to assist with mechanical repairs, vehicle preparation, polishing, detailing, and general shop operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to learn automotive repair while gaining hands-on experience working on a variety of vehicles, including former law-enforcement vehicles.
Primary Responsibilities Mechanical Work- Assist mechanics with routine vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Perform oil changes, brake service, battery replacement, fluid checks, and basic mechanical repairs.
- Assist with diagnosing mechanical problems and troubleshooting vehicle issues.
- Remove and install automotive parts under the direction of experienced mechanics.
- Inspect vehicles and report mechanical or safety issues.
- Help prepare vehicles for sale and ensure they are mechanically ready for customers.
- Maintain tools and keep the mechanical work area clean and organized.
- Wash and thoroughly clean vehicles inside and outside.
- Buff and polish vehicle paint.
- Remove minor scratches, oxidation, and imperfections when appropriate.
- Apply wax, sealants, and other exterior treatments.
- Clean wheels, tires, windows, engine compartments, and other vehicle areas.
- Perform interior vacuuming, shampooing, and detailing.
- Prepare vehicles to meet company presentation standards before being advertised or sold.
- Move and park vehicles safely around the property.
- Assist with loading and unloading vehicles and parts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
- Properly use and maintain shop equipment and tools.
- Follow all safety procedures.
- Assist other employees with various dealership and shop duties as needed.
- Basic knowledge of automobiles and mechanical systems preferred.
- Previous automotive, mechanic, detailing, or body-shop experience is a plus.
- Willingness to learn mechanical repair and vehicle detailing.
- Ability to work with hand tools and basic shop equipment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Dependable and punctual.
- Good work ethic and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Ability to safely drive and move vehicles around the dealership/shop.
- Must be able to lift, bend, stand, kneel, and perform physical work for extended periods.

Pay: Based on experience and qualifications.
