Clayton Services is searching for a Corporate Buyer to join a thriving company in Northwest Houston. The Corporate Buyer will be responsible for developing and managing end-to-end vendor relationships, negotiating pricing and program terms, analyzing trends for product assortment improvement, overseeing inventory levels with proactive purchasing, and implementing demand forecasting models while driving product research and collaboration with vendors for effective product suite development.

Job Type: Direct Hire

Pay Rate: $75,000 - $90,000/annually

• Cultivate strong relationships with domestic and international vendors to ensure a reliable and diverse supply chain.
• Drive process improvements and automation for demand planning tools to reduce manual data aggregation and increase visibility to the forecast analysis
• Oversee the overall inventory, encompassing the enhancement of stock availability, strategic inventory planning, operational improvements with vendors (efficiency, fill rates, lead time), accurate forecasting, and the minimization of shrinkage.
• Monitor current inventory levels and proactively generate and manage purchase orders to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Conduct negotiations on pricing and program terms with vendors, while implementing continuous improvement initiatives in the supply chain.
• Create and execute comprehensive buy plans to align with business objectives and market demands.
• Develop and implement demand forecasting models, planning to address seasonality fluctuations.
• Uphold the quality and accuracy of the item catalog, ensuring it reflects the latest product information.
• Keep the accounting department informed of updates related to pricing, costs, payment terms, and credit memos.
• Explore new products through research, reaching out to vendors for samples, and comparing prices and specifications to meet client requirements.
• Effectively curate suites of products, determining competitive pricing and analyzing marketplace trends to identify new business opportunities for the future.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical, organizational, planning, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and expertise in managing and analyzing large data sets utilizing Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of Net Suite and/or SQL is a plus

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 5+ years of corporate retail buying and purchasing experience.
• Inventory planning and forecasting experience is required.
