Job Description

We are currently seeking a (New Grad) Subcontracts Technician/Coordinator to join our Construction, Subcontracting and Start‑up team based in Houston, TX. This entry‑level position will leverage your management degree while you learn department policies and procedures to grow in subcontracts management. Initial assignments will be administrative and analytical support for the creation and maintenance of construction subcontracts.

About The Job

This entry‑level position involves working closely with the Subcontracts Department to support both non‑project and project‑related activities, including document management, data analysis, and vendor coordination.

Non‑Project Assignments
  • Establish and maintain subcontract files of documents in accordance with procedures.
  • Maintain subcontract filing instructions, files, and interface with Central Filing.
  • Apply a good understanding of Oracle applications (OTJ training).
  • Provide various analysis and reporting through the retrieval of subcontract-related expenditure data.
  • Assist in the setup of new vendors, including pre‑qualification coordination.
  • Assist Subcontracts Managers/Administrators with subcontractor invoice issues.
  • Enter Oracle PO change orders in support of the Subcontracts Department.
  • Assist with Oracle PO closeout in support of the Subcontracts Department.
Project Assignments
  • All duties from non‑project assignments.
  • Prepare documents for publication as needed under Subcontracts Procedures directed by a Subcontracts Administrator.
  • Set up and maintain a correspondence log for all memos, letters, and meeting minutes as directed.
  • Format and publish reports as needed.
  • Coordinate arrangements for internal, subcontractor, and in‑house Subcontracts meetings for department needs.
  • Must be able to mobilize and travel internationally and domestically, including rotational site deployments.

About You

We’d love to hear from you if your profile meets the following essential requirements:

  • Minimum Requirements:
    • Minimum:
      Bachelor’s degree (required) in Construction Management or Business Management with a focus on Supply Chain, Finance, International Business, or a similar field.
    • Less than 2 years of professional working experience.
    • Strong proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel with demonstrated ability to obtain and report on project expenditure data and publish error‑free subcontract documents.
    • Ability to mobilize and travel internationally and domestically, including rotational site deployments.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills.
    • Good interpersonal skills and a demonstrated team spirit.
    • Demonstrates initiative and the ability to see tasks through to completion.
    • Ability to perceive and analyze problems, develop alternatives, and make or recommend sound decisions if needed.
    • Some purchasing knowledge preferred.
    • Sensitivity to confidential matters.
    • Willingness to listen, learn, and support from experienced team members.
