Aquatics Pool Attendant, Seasonal

Job Summary

A Pool Attendant is required to greet and assist members and keep the pool areas clean and organized. They support Pool Area teams in any way necessary. They will also assist coworkers with set up and tear down before and after classes, take and record pool chemistry on a schedule and keep the Pool House office and storage rooms neat and organized.

A Pool Attendant works Aquatics events, summer related holidays and must attend In-Service trainings and Aquatics, Club and Company meetings. This role is critical to maintaining the luxury standard and reputation of The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa while upholding the highest levels of discretion and professionalism.

• Continuously circulate throughout the pool areas determining where service is needed.
• Service the members and co-workers needs with genuine care.
• Check the restrooms to ensure they are clean and supplied at all times.
• Meet and greet members and guests, assist members and guests with finding seating, getting towels, swim gear…etc.
• Return any gear promptly so they are not trip hazards.
• Collect soiled towels, pick up trash, clean furniture and set it back in order and clean the decks as necessary.
• Follow proper procedures for pool closures and lost and found items.
• Ensure the Pool House office and storage areas are always neat and clean.
• Report potential problems and hazards to Head Lifeguard and Aquatics Manager immediately.
• Will test and record water chemistry on a prescribed schedule.
• Contribute to the overall security of the pool area and safety of the members and guests by reporting any unusual or suspicious behavior.
• Will be required to work events (even on holidays), attend In-service meetings, staff meetings, Club meetings and company meetings.
• Will enforce pool rules to help with prevention of hazardous behaviors.
• Is a part of the Aquatics Team to assist during emergencies.
• Other duties as assigned.
