The Director, Sales – North America is a critical commercial leader responsible for driving profitable revenue growth for Flexpipe across the U.S. and Canada—directly supporting Mattr’s broader strategic objectives for market expansion and operational excellence. Reporting to the VP/GM Flexpipe, this role shapes and executes the regional sales strategy, ensuring disciplined pricing, strong margin performance, and effective resource deployment. The Director leads Sales Managers and the Sales Support Manager, while also influencing Account Managers, Project Coordinators, and customer‑facing teams to deliver consistent, high‑quality customer experiences.
By partnering closely with Operations, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and other Mattr functions, the Director ensures market competitiveness, strengthens customer trust, and enables Flexpipe—and Mattr—to achieve revenue and profitability targets across all North American segments.
- Convert Flexpipe’s strategic direction into a clear regional sales strategy, including segmentation, target markets and go‑to‑market plans.
- Build annual revenue and margin plans by region, segment and key account.
- Establish and drive KPIs such as pipeline coverage, close rates, pricing discipline and volume/mix performance.
- Align closely with Marketing, Product Management and International Markets to ensure consistent global commercial execution.
- Own monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting with accuracy and clear variance explanations.
- Analyze performance trends, pricing, win/loss and pipeline metrics; implement corrective actions.
- Provide market intelligence and demand outlooks for budgeting and financial planning.
- Ensure effective use of CRM and data tools for sales discipline and decision‑making.
- Lead strategic customer engagement, including major operators, EPCMs and partners.
- Support teams on deal strategy, pricing, contract negotiations and escalations.
- Consolidate market intelligence to influence product, pricing and service strategies.
- Promote a strong customer‑focused culture that reinforces Flexpipe as a trusted brand.
- Provide direction, coaching and performance management for leaders and their teams.
- Develop capabilities in consultative selling, account planning, pricing and commercial acumen.
- Oversee development of top operator and corporate account strategies.
- Drive a collaborative, accountable and inclusive culture, supporting talent planning, recruitment and development.
- Align with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance and Field Operations on demand, capacity, inventory and service levels.
- Strengthen sales operations processes including order accuracy, scheduling, invoicing, documentation and inventory management.
- Represent Sales in S&OP, forecasting, pricing reviews, global sales meetings and enterprise initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with pricing authorities, credit terms, commercial policies and ethical standards.
- Support audits, internal controls and documentation requirements.
- Sponsor improvements to quoting, order entry, forecasting and CRM data quality.
- University degree in Business, Engineering or related field.
- Master’s Degree (MBA or related) preferred.
Minimum:
- 10+ years leading sales teams with proven revenue and profitability success.
- Experience in North American pipeline, oil & gas or industrial infrastructure sectors.
- Public‑company or matrixed‑organization experience.
- OEM experience, plus launching differentiated technologies requiring value‑based selling.
Preferred:
- 5+ years leading sales teams with a strong success record.
- Developed corporate account plans for Top 10 U.S. operators.
- Strong financial acumen related to pricing, deal economics and P&L drivers.
- Valid driver’s license and frequent North American travel; occasional international travel.
- 1–2 years in pipe, valve and fitting, polymer or composite segments preferred; 3–5 years in manufacturing required.
