GENERAL SUMMARY
Leads business development and membership growth to achieve the Credit Union’s growth targets. Operates as both a player and a coach, this leader and their team drives B2B activity on acquiring, deepening, and cultivating relationships with Select Employer Groups (SEGs) and corporate relationships. Builds trusted executive‑level relationships and deploying on the Credit Union growth strategies.
Position Duties & Functions
Business Development & Growth Strategy
- Contribute to and execute strategies to enroll, activate, and grow SEGs and corporate sponsors, directly sourcing opportunities and engaging C‑suite decision‑makers.
- Own overall sales and membership growth targets, including new member acquisition, deposits, and loans.
Strategic Relationship Management
- Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with sponsors, SEGs, and key stakeholders, balancing sponsor‑employee needs with Credit Union objectives.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of SEG and sponsor relationships, ensuring retention, measurable value delivery, long‑term engagement, and financial performance.
- Actively contribute to business development efforts with a book of business while mentoring and guiding the team to achieve SEG and membership growth goals.
- Oversee hiring, performance management, coaching, incentive programs, and ongoing professional development to drive accountability and results.
Cross‑Functional Execution & Performance Management
- Partner with Marketing, Branch, Lending, and Member Services teams to develop and execute targeted SEG activation, prospecting, and deepening programs.
- Establish clear performance metrics, track and report results, ensure accountability for growth outcomes, and continuously refine strategies to optimize impact.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION
- 8 to 10 years’ related experience required, including significant proactive outbound sales and business development experience in B2B.
- 5+ years’ experience managing a sales or business development function.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated qualifications.
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to proficiently read and interpret information on systems and documents.
- Ability to write and speak effectively in English using correct spelling and grammar.
- Basic math skills including the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages using a 10‑key.
- Proficient in the use of basic applications in a Windows‑based environment, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Moderate keyboard skills at 40 wpm.
