About the Role
The Business Development Manager II – Texas Market is an integral part of Latham’s Markets team. This role will be responsible for overseeing business development (BD) strategy and execution across the Texas market and developing and implementing the Texas market strategy, local growth targets, and regional go‑to‑market plans, while collaborating closely with business development leads supporting the Energy & Infrastructure Group, as well as corporate, litigation, and industry‑focused teams to align Texas priorities with broader strategic objectives.
This role will be located in our Houston office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in‑office presence.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Building strong relationships with partners, counsel, and associates in the Texas offices to establish a role as a trusted advisor
- Developing a comprehensive understanding of practices and clients in Texas to drive strategic priorities, including client engagement and relationship building
- Providing research, analysis, and reporting to support the identification and development of new clients and the enhancement of existing client relationships
- Working with partners to shape and execute their business development plans while ensuring alignment with group strategy
- Playing an active role in the integration of lateral partners and the development of junior partners
- Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

- Possess excellent leadership skills, including planning, problem solving, and decision‑making
- Demonstrate a commitment to developing the skills necessary for effective management
- Exhibit superior written and oral communication skills
And have:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- A minimum of 7-10 years of cumulative business development experience
- Relevant experience within a legal or law firm environment, preferably
