Job Description & How to Apply Below

At Utility, we’re reimagining what’s possible.

Our breakthrough H2

Gen® technology transforms undesirable industrial by-products into clean energy and sustainable fuels and feed stocks, helping hard-to-abate industries decarbonize without compromise. We’re building systems and solutions that will power a zero-carbon future by turning what the world doesn’t want into clean energy it needs most.

But technology alone doesn’t change the world.

We’re building a team as bold as our mission. Engineers and scientists, designers and operators, storytellers and strategists all united by a shared belief: that the undesirable can become invaluable, and that industrial decarbonization can be both practical and economical.

At Utility, we see possibilities where others see limits. We believe progress happens when diverse minds collaborate toward a cleaner, smarter, more resilient world.

If you’re ready to do the most meaningful work of your career, join us and help build what’s next.

The Role

Reporting to the VP of Business Development, Utility Global is seeking a strategic, highly analytical Manager, Commercial Strategy & Growth to play a pivotal role in our rapidly growing company. This individual will sit at the intersection of market strategy, business development execution, and operational commercial management.

Working alongside the Commercial Leadership Team, you will act as a driving force behind global market assessments, policy analysis, and key customer engagement strategies across multi-industry sectors including Steel, Refining & Chemicals/Petrochemicals, Low-Carbon Fuels, and Upstream Oil & Gas. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct rigorous commercial and strategic market-entry assessments for targeted global industries (Steel, Refining, Chemicals, and Low-Carbon Fuels).
  • Monitor, analyze, and map out regional government policies, carbon credits, and clean energy subsidies/incentives applicable to H₂Gen® technology commercialization.
  • Deliver comprehensive commercial pre-briefings and strategic debriefs for industry conferences to capitalize on pipeline opportunities.
  • Architect high-impact, professional presentations and commercial narratives for executive-level customer pitches and stakeholder briefings.
  • Participate directly in customer discovery meetings, manage follow-up cadences, and ensure a highly polished, competitive customer journey.
  • Maintain and optimize a high-quality, up-to-date global customer relationship database to accurately track pipeline progression.
Commercial Operations & Sales Cadence Management
  • Redefine as needed, implement, and manage the internal sales process, establishing the standard toolkits, tracking systems, and operational cadences used to manage business development performance.
  • Lead commercial priority initiatives as defined in partnership with individual executive leaders and the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).
  • Resource-plan and optimize business development pipelines to bridge commercial targets with core company capabilities.
Financial Modeling & Economic Support
  • Manage and refine project economic models to analyze preliminary levelized cost of hydrogen (LCOH) and build simplified Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) project return structures.
  • Collaborate with Business Development leadership to ensure underlying project economics support value-based pricing and commercial framework strategies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Act as a central integrator across Business Development, Marketing, Engineering, Proposals, Project Execution, Supply Chain, and Finance to drive unified commercial growth.
  • Coordinate critical commercial operations traveling between our corporate offices in Houston, TX, and our primary Technology Center in Denver, CO.
