The Program Administrator, Research Administrative Services, plans, coordinates, and monitors the research administrative activities of the division, ensuring that small to medium scale programs or processes comply with regulations governing government and private research grants and contracts. This role involves interpreting and applying relevant procedures and regulations, as well as developing, planning, and managing all activities for division programs and/or processes, functioning in a leadership capacity within the program.
PositionKey Accountabilities
- Oversees the planning, implementation, and tracking of specific small and medium programs and/or processes.
- May develop and maintain efficient processes to ensure smooth program operations, including documentation, reporting, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for small and medium program and/or process stakeholders, including team members, clients, and external partners, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
- Provides training and support to small and/or medium program staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Manages small and medium program and/or process resources, including budgeting, scheduling, and allocation of personnel and materials to meet program objectives.
- Tracks small and medium program and/or process performance using appropriate tools and techniques, providing regular updates and reports to senior management.
- Identifies potential risks and develops mitigation strategies to ensure small and medium program and/or process success.
- Evaluates small and/or medium program outcomes and processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance program effectiveness.
- May provide daily operational leadership, including coordinating the daily activities of the small and/or medium program teams.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Negotiation skills are a plus
- Proficiency in database management and spreadsheet applications is essential
- Work may involve handling biohazardous, chemical, and radiological materials, as well as operating associated equipment. Required safety training and appropriate engineering and administrative controls, including the use of personal protective equipment, must be followed.
- Completion of SRAi Level Up training required
- Certified Research Administrator (CRA) by Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) or a similar credential preferred
Bachelor's Degree required. May substitute required education with equivalent years of experience beyond the minimum experience requirement.
Minimum Experience5 years of experience required in sponsored project support and administration.
Physical RequirementsExerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
