Job Description
Tallgrass Integrated Logistics Solutions (ILS) is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Contracts Manager to lead and drive the success of contracts for a multi-billion dollar energy infrastructure project. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of contract management, negotiation, and compliance within the energy sector. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the project's success by managing contracts efficiently, mitigating risks, and effectively managing stakeholders.
This role would be a primary leadership role in the ILS Project Team.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Business, Law, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Technical background highly desired but not required.
- A minimum of 10+ years' direct work experience in Procurement may be considered as a substitute for a degree.
- A minimum of ten (10) years' active and direct work experience, the majority of which should be in Procurement and / or Contract Management.
- Extensive experience in Contract Management, particularly in large-scale energy infrastructure, oil and gas, LNG, or other complex projects.
- Experience in preparing and negotiating a wide variety of complex service contracts including Major Construction Agreements.
- Familiarity with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) and major Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) contractual terms and intent.
- In-depth knowledge of contract law, industry regulations, and best practices.
- Required travel 25%.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
- Personable, positive, and enthusiastic attitude with capability to engage effectively and negotiate firmly with suppliers.
- Ability to manage complex and highly confidential matters in a mature, professional manner.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft applications (including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) for the purpose of word processing, spreadsheets, and information retrieval.
- Strong reading, listening and analytical skills and logical thought processes, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues/problems.
- Ability to successfully organize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously, frequently under tight deadlines.
- Ability to analyze events at the transaction level and apply sound and consistent resolutions to such events.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities, driving creative solutions to complex issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a variety of individuals and personalities at all levels (field to C‑Suite) internally and externally.
- Ability to work independently to manage tasks and timelines.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate across various teams.
- Utilize strategic approach for planning and problem solving, with a "continuous improvement" mindset.
- Ability to quickly change direction in a demanding environment while effectively communicating within the organization.
- Work cooperatively and effectively with others and maintain confidentiality when appropriate.
- Ability to maintain a measurable high level of performance.
- Sitting, standing, walking, speaking (in person or via phone/video conference), moving throughout a construction site or operating industrial facility, driving, seeing (specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus), hearing, feeling, bending or stooping, squatting or crouching, reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Generally, office working conditions with some time in construction and operating industrial environments.
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to fly on airplanes domestically and internationally (up to >14 hours).
