About

The Role

The Director of Government Operations will lead and manage the company’s government-related business operations, contracts, compliance, and strategic initiatives. This role will serve as the key liaison between internal departments and local, state, and federal agencies, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and alignment with strategic goals for public sector partnerships and contracts.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of all government programs, grants, and contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, policies, and reporting requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all government agencies and partners.
  • Manage and coordinate RFP submissions, contract negotiations, renewals, and performance tracking.
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, finance, and executive leadership to maintain audit-ready documentation and contractual integrity.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with government stakeholders and agencies to enhance visibility and business opportunities.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and operational workflows for all government initiatives to ensure alignment with internal standards and external regulations.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement and manage government-funded projects.
  • Identify risk exposure and ensure mitigation strategies are in place for all government engagements.
  • Analyze operational performance and prepare regular reports for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor relevant legislation and regulatory changes and advise on operational impact.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in government operations, contract management, or public sector strategy.
  • Experience working with behavioral health, healthcare, or nonprofit government funding streams.
  • Familiarity with grants management software, ERP platforms, or government contract tracking tools.
  • Proven success managing large-scale government programs or contracts.
  • Deep understanding of federal, state, and local government procurement processes and compliance regulations.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Additional Information

The expected base pay for this role will be between $130,000 to $150,000 annually at the commencement of employment. However, base pay will be determined on an individualized basis and will be impacted by location and years of experience. Further, base pay is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Psychplus Health-sponsored benefits.
