Senior Commercial Manager – CTS

Senior Commercial Manager role focuses on developing and executing commercial solutions, proposal preparation, ensuring contractual compliance, and driving profitability within Baker Hughes Climate Technology Solutions.

Internal title for this role is Sales Senior Advisor – Proposals.

Responsibilities
  • Develop commercial strategies and proposals.
  • Compile and submit tender documentation and ensure competitive pricing.
  • Negotiate with customers, finalize contracts, and comply with ITO processes.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design solutions and optimize technical, economic, logistical, financial, and contractual aspects.
  • Drive mandatory cost‑reductions and order‑volume, pricing, profitability, proposal‑timeliness, win‑rate, and convertibility targets for the segment.
  • Prepare proposals, maximize profitability and convertibility, and lead deal‑price and margin strategy reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with commercial risk assessment procedures and proposal preparation procedures; lead Project Hand‑Off Meetings.
  • Influence and implement continuous process improvements through best‑practice guidelines.
  • Interact with Sales Teams during opportunity development and customer assessments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • 8+ years of experience in commercial operations, application engineering, or client‑facing role in energy technology.
  • 6+ years of knowledge of rotating equipment and solutions for the Industrial Energy industry.
  • Extensive experience in complex tendering, contract management, negotiations, and leading, planning, and executing successful strategies.
  • Strong team player with cross‑functional, cross‑cultural influence ability.
  • Proven business acumen, customer‑centric attitude, and ownership mindset in a global‑matrix environment.
  • Excellent English (oral and written) and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel as business requires.
  • Strong problem‑solving and independent working skills with a never‑give‑up attitude.
