** Job Summary
** Conoco Phillips is seeking a commercially minded Louisiana Gas Originator to join our Gulf Coast Gas Trading and Marketing team in Houston, Texas. This role is responsible for originating and developing natural gas marketing opportunities across Louisiana and the broader Gulf Coast region, with a focus on industrial end-users, intrastate pipeline markets, and growing demand centers.
The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding Conoco Phillips’ presence in Louisiana gas markets by developing customer relationships, identifying commercial opportunities, and integrating new business into one of North America’s largest asset-backed natural gas portfolios. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with traders, analysts, and commercial teams to capture value across production, transportation, and market optimization activities.
** Position Overview
** Key Responsibilities Origination and Business Development
* Develop, maintain, and expand relationships with industrial natural gas customers across Louisiana and the Gulf Coast.
* Identify and pursue new commercial opportunities with industrial, refining, manufacturing, and energy-sector customers.
* Expand Conoco Phillips’ market presence within historically underrepresented intrastate and industrial market segments.
* Evaluate customer needs and develop commercial solutions that create value for both customers and Conoco Phillips.

Market Development and Commercial Growth
* Increase market visibility and commercial access across Louisiana intrastate pipeline systems and regional markets.
* Monitor regional supply, demand, transportation, and pricing dynamics to identify business opportunities.
* Build and maintain a strong network of counter parties, customers, and industry contacts.
* Represent Conoco Phillips in the marketplace and strengthen the company’s commercial presence throughout the region.

Commercial Structuring and Portfolio Optimization
* Structure and negotiate physical natural gas transactions that leverage existing transportation, production, and supply positions.
* Collaborate with trading teams to align transactions with market conditions, pricing strategies, and portfolio objectives.
* Support optimization of existing assets and transportation arrangements.
* Integrate originated business into the broader Gulf Coast and North American gas portfolio.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Partner closely with natural gas traders, commercial analysts, schedulers, and structured transaction teams.
* Support commercial evaluations through market analysis, pricing assessments, and financial modeling.
* Work with internal stakeholders to advance short-, medium-, and long-term commercial opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, risk controls, and commercial governance requirements.
