Position Overview
As a Student Financial Services Specialist at Galen College of Nursing, you will provide information, guidance, and assistance regarding various types of financial assistance, including federal financial aid, state aid, workforce agencies, employer payments, and VA benefits, to facilitate the enrollment, persistence, and completion of students, consistent with the College's mission.
Key Responsibilities- Education:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Equivalent experience in lieu of a degree will be considered. - Experience:
Preference for experience with Federal Financial Aid programs and customer financial accounts, though not required. - Skills:
Excellent written and oral communication; strong customer service; organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines; ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion; team player. - Special
Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products; ability to access Department of Education websites (NSLDS, COD, CPS, etc.); no prior history of student loan default. - Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment:
Must sit at a computer desk for eight hours a day and be available to work a flexible schedule that includes some evenings and occasional weekends. - Degree of Supervision:
Minimal.
