Job Summary:
The Environmental Analyst will support project teams by providing in-depth data analysis, technical knowledge, and innovative solutions for a variety of environmental projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:- Develop foundational consulting skills appropriate for an early-career professional, including performing careful analysis following the scientific method, asking clear questions, documenting assumptions, incorporating feedback, and steadily increasing independence in assigned tasks over the first 0-2 years.
- Consistently deliver high-quality consulting services under direction of project managers on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Support project delivery in a manner that contributes to revenue goals through consistent billable work, effective time management, and timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Reliably support marketing and subject matter research and/or administrative initiatives
- Contribute practical ideas to improve the quality, efficiency, and value of Acorn International’s services, including ideas related to project tools, data organization, client deliverables, and internal processes.
- Assist project managers with coordination tasks such as preparing meeting notes, tracking action items, maintaining project files, updating schedules or task trackers, and following up on assigned deliverables.
- Collect, process, and analyze environmental and social data from various sources, including field studies, laboratory results, and regulatory databases.
- Utilize statistical tools and software to interpret data and generate actionable insights for project teams.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, charts, and presentations to communicate findings to clients and stakeholders.
- Prepare work products that are clear, organized, and suitable for review by senior staff, with attention to professional tone, formatting, source support, and alignment with client instructions.
- Support environmental and social impact assessment work by assisting with baseline research, impact identification, mitigation measure tracking, regulatory review, and preparation of clear, well-organized sections of reports and client deliverables.
- Conduct desktop research using publicly available sources, client-provided materials, regulatory databases, and international good practice references; summarize findings accurately and maintain organized source files for project teams.
- Communicate effectively with project team members, clients, and stakeholders to facilitate project success.
- Communicate proactively with supervisors and project teams regarding task status, deadlines, questions, workload constraints, and potential issues that may affect quality, budget, or schedule.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in data analysis and technical processes.
- Perform quality checks on assigned work products, including reviewing data tables, citations, formatting, calculations, references, and consistency between figures, tables, and report text before submitting work for review.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and generate actionable insights.
- Proficiency or willingness to develop proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and other project-specific software used for data analysis, document control, mapping, or collaboration.
- Communication

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively. - Attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
- Demonstrated curiosity, willingness to learn, responsiveness to feedback, and ability to build technical knowledge in environmental and social consulting through project work, internal guidance, and independent research.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 0-2 years of experience in data analysis, environmental modeling, or a related technical role within the environmental consulting industry.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
