Position

Reporting to the Venue Competition Manager, the Venue Competition Coordinator is a key member of the FIFA
26 Competition Management team. They collaborate closely with the FIFA Match Coordinator, Venue Management team, Stadium Authority, Logistics, Pitch Management, Team Services, Catering, Transportation and other stakeholders to deliver all operational tasks at the assigned venue.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Competition Operations at the venue, acting as counterpart to the FIFA Match Coordinator.
  • Work with the Venue Management Team, Stadium Authority, Logistics and Pitch Management on all infrastructural and equipment deliverables and ensure timely submission of requirements.
  • Coordinate with Team Services, Catering and Transportation on all submissions for Teams’ and Referees’ requirements (dressing rooms, jacuzzi, cold bath temperature, catering, equipment).
  • Manage competitions volunteers' communication and assignment processes.
  • Prepare office and meeting rooms (furniture, stationery, equipment) for daily operations and official functions.
  • Prepare MCM (Match Control Meeting) room and printouts for each meeting in cooperation with the FIFA Match Coordinator.
  • Support delivery of familiarisation sessions.
  • Verify benches and goalposts placement, and ensure all lines and marks are painted.
  • Perform any other duties delegated by the Venue Competition Operations Manager.

Education & Qualifications
  • High School Degree minimum, Bachelor’s Degree in Sport or Event Management preferred.
  • Master's Degree is an additional asset.
  • Extensive international football knowledge.
  • Extensive knowledge of event & competition/match operations and sport facility operations within appointed venue.
  • Experience working with international football associations.
  • Ability to stand on feet for long periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment as directed for Federations and Competition Management.
  • Knowledge of local sports culture of USA, Mexico and Canada an added benefit.
  • Strong administrative and IT skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to communicate effectively rules and regulations set forth by FIFA World Cup 2026.
  • Strong collaboration, relationship management, time management, leadership, communication.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage high‑profile event stress.
  • Sound judgement and task prioritization.
  • Adherence to credential policy and confidentiality.
Work Experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience in football or event management, international experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years full‑time experience in a support role at a professional team or venue.
  • Proven record in operating professional sporting events successfully.
  • Experience implementing competition rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of event planning and event project management processes.
Languages
  • Fluent in English (oral and written); additional language skills, especially Spanish and French, are a plus.
Technology
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Visio, Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools.
