About the Role
Senior Associate in the Risk and Controls Practice focuses on supporting clients’ risk management, internal controls, and regulatory compliance across a variety of industries.
Key Responsibilities- Model core RSM values of respect, integrity, teamwork, excellence, and stewardship in all client and team interactions.
- Build and maintain client relationships and develop meaningful relationships with client personnel and colleagues.
- Leverage industry knowledge to identify risks and recommend process and control improvements.
- Conduct risk assessment interviews and update risk assessment models.
- Prepare and perform tests of the operating effectiveness of internal controls, drafting test plans, work programs, narratives, or flowcharts.
- Review staff work for accuracy, completeness, and reasoned conclusions; provide first‑level review and coaching.
- Prepare initial draft client reports and status documents for delivery.
- Manage engagement budgets and provide accurate cost estimates to engagement leaders.
- Support multiple client projects simultaneously while contributing to firm initiatives.
- Travel to client locations as needed and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
- Participate in business development activities, including industry association events and network building.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or a related business discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in audit, internal audit, or related internal control roles.
- Proficiency in professional writing, spreadsheets, and presentation tools.
- Exposure to data analytics tools is preferred.
- Qualified to pursue a relevant certification (e.g., CPA, CIA).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective time‑management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to travel and work collaboratively with teams.
Compensation Range: $77,700–$146,900. Eligible for discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
