PURPOSE:
Musket Europe, SARL is seeking a Naptha Trader. The position is based in Geneva, Switzerland and will leverage Musket’s existing U.S. naphtha platform to develop physical and financial trading opportunities across Europe and Asia. Execute physical arbitrage and optimize trading economics through paper markets, freight, vessels, storage, terminals and pipelines. Use deep supply-and-demand expertise and European naphtha balances to identify market dislocations, develop differentiated views and capture trading opportunities.
Build new flows, relationships and infrastructure opportunities to expand Musket’s global naphtha footprint.
- Leverage Musket's existing U.S. supply, infrastructure and trading relationships.
- Establish European and Asian counter parties and end-user relationships.
- Identify opportunities to move barrels between regions.
- Develop US/Europe/Asia arbitrage.
- Optimize vessel economics, freight, storage, terminals, pipelines and blending.
- Identify opportunities created by logistics and infrastructure constraints.
- Use derivatives, spreads, cracks and paper markets to optimize physical trade.
- Develop proprietary positions around fundamental market views.
- Manage optionality embedded in physical contracts.
- Develop European and global naphtha supply/demand balances.
- Follow refinery runs, crackers, LPG/naphtha substitution, exports/imports, inventories and freight.
- Identify structural dislocations before they become obvious to the market.
- Not just trade existing flows, but create new flows, counter parties, contracts and infrastructure opportunities.
- Expand Musket's global footprint and ultimately build a scalable physical and financial naphtha franchise.
EXPERIENCE:
- 5 + years of experience in commodity trading.
- Deep knowledge in European markets
- Deep knowledge of US, European, and Asia lights product markets.
- High level of price risk management expertise.
- Understanding of physical international fuel supply chain.
- Understand shipping and cartage for delivery to end users.
