The Connections Coordinator provides strategic leadership for our guest experience, assimilation, member engagement, community development, volunteer integration, retention, and leadership development efforts.

This leader is responsible for designing, implementing, measuring, and continuously improving the systems that help people move from:

The ideal candidate is both highly relational and highly organized, capable of building scalable systems while developing teams and creating meaningful opportunities for people to connect and grow.

This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Senior Pastor or designated Executive Pastor.

Key Responsibilities Guest Experience & Assimilation
  • Lead and oversee the complete first-time guest experience.
  • Develop and manage systems for capturing guest information across all services, events, outreach initiatives, and digital channels.
  • Ensure timely and effective guest follow-up within established time frames.
  • Create pathways that move guests toward church membership and active engagement.
  • Track and improve first-time guest retention and return rates.
Membership & Belonging
  • Oversee membership onboarding processes and Culture Class experiences.
  • Develop systems ensuring that every new member clearly understands their next step.
  • Implement and manage Connections Guide and mentorship-style relationships.
  • Ensure every new member has opportunities to build meaningful relationships within their first 30 days.
Community Engagement
  • Lead efforts to connect members to Tribes, Small Groups, discipleship groups, and other community environments.
  • Develop strategies that help members build authentic relationships and discover where they fit within the church family.
  • Partner with ministry leaders to facilitate healthy community placement.
  • Help members discover gifts, talents, passions, and serving opportunities.
  • Oversee successful handoffs from member interest to ministry placement.
  • Collaborate with ministry leaders to increase volunteer engagement and retention.
  • Monitor volunteer pipeline health and leadership development opportunities.
Retention & Member Care
  • Develop systems that identify disengaged members and trigger timely follow-up.
  • Create re‑engagement strategies focused on care, connection, and pastoral support.
  • Ensure members do not slip through the cracks without intentional contact and care.
Leadership Development
  • Build and sustain a leadership pipeline that identifies and develops emerging leaders.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and support volunteer leaders.
  • Develop future Connections Team leaders, Small Group leaders, Tribe leaders, and ministry leaders.
  • Partner with church leadership in identifying high‑capacity leadership candidates.
Systems & Analytics
  • Maintain accurate member and guest data through church management systems and CRM platforms.
  • Develop dashboards, scorecards, and reporting mechanisms for leadership.
  • Present regular reports and recommendations to senior leadership.
Success Metrics

The Connections Coordinator will be expected to help achieve measurable outcomes such as:

  • Guest information capture and follow-up effectiveness
  • First-time guest return rates
  • Membership onboarding and Culture Class completion
  • Community and small group placement
  • Volunteer engagement and ministry placement
  • Member retention and re‑engagement

Success is defined not simply by attendance growth, but by meaningful engagement, community connection, discipleship advancement, and member retention.

Qualifications Required
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in church ministry, nonprofit leadership, community engagement, volunteer management, or related environments.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and project management skills.
