Your Mission

The Growth Projects Contracting & Contracts Manager provides strategic oversight and ensures that all contracting and procurement activities align with the Vopak Project Management methodology, corporate governance standards, and global best practices. Key tasks include assisting with contracting strategy development, overseeing the RFx process, facilitating Tender Board reviews, and negotiating engineering, procurement, and construction contracts while supporting project teams with contract management and administration.

The role collaborates closely with Project Managers, Procurement, Legal, Finance, and Executive Leadership to maintain compliance, transparency, and strategic alignment with Vopak's investment and growth objectives.

What will you be doing?

• Oversee and ensure that all Growth Projects contracting and procurement activities adhere to the Vopak Project Management (VPM) methodology, corporate governance standards, and global procurement frameworks.
• Organize, facilitate, and document Tender Board (TB) meetings while maintaining tracking mechanisms and proper record-keeping for TB decisions, contract awards, and waiver justifications.
• Oversee RFx (RFI, RFQ, RFP) processes, negotiate engineering, procurement, and construction contracts, and ensure evaluation transparency to prevent bid shopping.
• Establish contract risk assessment protocols, track contract variations, and enforce cost controls and governance enforcement.
• Assist Growth Project teams in the management and administration of contracts, and evaluate project needs to ensure adequate staffing of dedicated contracts personnel.
• Participate in VPM Stage-Gate process reviews and act as a key liaison for project governance checkpoints across identification, selection, definition, execution, and commissioning stages.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Project Managers, Procurement, Legal, Finance, and Executive Leadership to align contracting decisions with strategic business objectives.
• Develop and implement contracting and procurement contract management training programs, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance governance capabilities across business units.
